Our Mission

Sparx Health Advocates empowers patients facing financial and administrative barriers to high-cost medications. Through personalized navigation support, patient education, and nonpartisan advocacy, we work to reduce cost burdens, strengthen health literacy, and advance equitable access to essential treatments.

Our Vision

A world where no patient has to choose between financial stability and the medications they need.

About Sparx Health Advocates

Sparx Health Advocates is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping patients overcome financial and administrative barriers to accessing high-cost and life-sustaining medications. We work with individuals, families, and healthcare providers to navigate the complex systems that often stand between patients and the treatments they need.

Many patients today face overwhelming challenges when trying to access prescribed medications, including high deductibles, copays, insurance denials, prior authorizations, and complicated patient assistance programs. These barriers can delay treatment, create financial hardship, and force patients to make impossible choices between their health and their financial stability. Sparx Health Advocates exists to ensure that no patient has to navigate these challenges alone.

Through personalized navigation support, patient education, and nonpartisan advocacy, we help patients understand their insurance coverage, identify financial assistance programs, navigate administrative processes, and advocate for access to prescribed treatments. Our work focuses on reducing cost burdens, strengthening health literacy, and advancing equitable access to essential medications.

We primarily serve patients with chronic, complex, rare, or lifelong conditions who rely on specialty or high-cost medications, as well as individuals who are uninsured, underinsured, or whose out-of-pocket costs exceed affordability. We also support caregivers, healthcare providers, and small or rural medical practices that may not have dedicated financial navigation resources for patients.

Sparx Health Advocates also works to advance long-term solutions through nonpartisan advocacy efforts that promote transparency, affordability, and patient-centered healthcare policies. By combining direct patient support with systemic advocacy, we aim to improve both individual patient outcomes and the broader healthcare system.

At its core, Sparx Health Advocates serves as a trusted ally for patients—transforming the experience of accessing high-cost medications from overwhelming and uncertain into informed, supported, and empowered.

Meet the Founder

Amy Sparks, Founder of Sparx Health Advocates, brings more than 15 years of experience across healthcare operations, compliance, and patient access—along with a deep understanding of how complex and overwhelming the healthcare system can be for those navigating it alone.

Throughout her career, Amy has worked at the intersection of systems, strategy, and patient access, leading initiatives that improved operational efficiency, strengthened compliance frameworks, and reduced barriers to care. Her work has consistently focused on solving complex problems within healthcare systems—streamlining processes, improving access, and ensuring that patients receive the care they need without unnecessary delays or obstacles.

Over time, Amy gained firsthand insight into one of the most critical gaps in healthcare: patients who qualify for assistance often struggle to find it, understand it, or access it. While working closely with patient assistance programs and prior authorization processes, she has seen how even the most capable individuals can be overwhelmed by administrative complexity, financial barriers, and lack of guidance.

That realization became the foundation for Sparx Health Advocates.

Amy founded the organization with a clear mission—to bridge the gap between patients and the resources available to them, and to ensure that no one has to navigate the healthcare system alone. Her approach combines operational expertise with a deep commitment to advocacy, empowering individuals with the knowledge, support, and direction they need to access care with confidence.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and is dedicated to advancing equitable access to healthcare through education, advocacy, and system navigation.
